Does a sense of right and wrong still exist?? And if it does, how consistent is it??

I know that what is wrong in a certain country, may not be wrong in another.

But, is there anything that everybody can agree with that is wrong??

And if we accept the fact that other countries have different standards, can we also accept that over time our own vision of right and wrong may evolve??

For those who don't believe in God, or don't believe much of Him ...they may like the word, evolve.

And societal standards, expectations, or even political correctness ...can quickly change how right and wrong are viewed, and what is considered acceptable.

At times, I get the impression that we have more tolerance for societies that exist which practice subjugation ...than we do for those people who make an attempt at dialogue, such as is taking place here.

I've seen news coverage of some young men approaching young women on the streets of our nation ...to whom they had never made an acquaintance with, and boldly asking them for sex. And when met with a simple "No!" ...they then punch the girl in the head.  As one girl was reeling from a blow, another young man runs up, also striking her in the head and throwing her to the ground.

I know there is worse violence than that around the world ...to the extent, that young women are also set on fire and maimed in various horrific ways.

This is when I ask, "How did it ever come to this???"

And just because it doesn't perchance happen in your neighborhood, or you don't know anybody who this has happened to ...doesn't mean it is something we should not get too alarmed over.

Just because Doris Jump was able to confuse them, doesn't mean that everyone is spared.  As it is, Doris Jump is a bit confused herself.  She usually has a quick response for everyone, though most people would refer to her as being a bit slow.

Doris Jump is walking down the street, and a young man approaches her, "Do you want to have sex?"

Doris Jump smiles, "What's your name?"

"Adam", the young man replies.

Doris Jump doesn't know him from Adam ...but, that doesn't matter, "Hi, Adam!"

Adam repeats, "Well, would you like to have sex."

Doris Jump is focused in her own way, "You didn't ask me what my own name is, Adam."

Adam appears to be a bit anxious, "What difference does it make, I don't want to have sex with your name ...whatever name you go by, do you want to have sex?"

Doris Jump smiles, "I already have."

Adam is getting even a bit more anxious, "I don't care how many times you've had sex ...just do you want to have sex?"

Doris Jump corrects him, "No, I only had sex once ...and I still have."

Adam is a bit tense, "Who cares ...then make it twice."

Doris Jump looks in the young man's eyes, "You are confused ...".  And she mumbles to herself, "And they call me retarded!"

Adam almost hollers, "Well??"

Doris Jump raises her voice, "Well, I already have sex ...and I was born a girl, and that's the way I want to stay.  I don't need to have sex ...as I told you I already have.  If you want sex ...you can keep yours, or get a change if you want.  I'm not changing ...I may end up being stupid like you!"

When I was growing up, if you woke up one morning and thought you were one thing, then the next morning something (or someone) else ...they called that schizophrenia.

And you can humor a schizophrenic to avoid having them add more stress to your life ...but it doesn't bring them any closer to realizing a possible cure.

Yet, I'm told that we are to go out of our way, and spend endless funds to support, comfort, and accommodate those who feel uncomfortable about themselves ...and instead of having meaningful dialogue, we play along with the whims.

Okay, I am calmly typing here ...so be reassured that I'm not going on a  rant.  I'm just expressing myself, by writing, mostly my own thoughts to myself.  Perhaps there are some who'd like me to share those thoughts ...and there are assuredly those who would likely prefer that I never voice my opinion again.

But ....as long as I'm here, let me just express another thing I think is ridiculous.  I keep hearing that the Russians influenced the November 2016 elections.  I don't know of anybody who listens to the opinions of the Russians ...the Russians themselves only keep relatively quiet and perhaps pretend they are listening because they have to.  So how do we make heads or tails of all this ...when it appears the source of it is mostly coming from the tail??

More on this, there has not been much talk about Julian Assange, though I did hear one comment from someone who felt that perhaps Julian was working for the Russians.  But, that theory, or conspiracy ...however you look at it, did not get much circulation, as a single person would not hold as much clout as an entire nation, especially if we are interested in negative press.  And another theory was that the Russians hacked into the computers tallying the votes ...which is a far-reaching, if not ludicrous assumption, though that would be hackers and not give as negative of an impression as perhaps would satisfy the media.

Perhaps Sweden influenced the Superbowl ...to guarantee that the Patriots would win.  And North Carolina just won the NCAA basketball championship because of the involvement of Transylvania. (or maybe it wasn't Transylvania, but Transgender ...something to do with the 'bathroom bill', and since they are willing to renegotiate ...perhaps they were allowed to win the title.)

If you are entertained by absurdities, I have plenty ...though I doubt many of you are entertained.

Yes, how did we ever come to this ...and I don't mean the entire world, as I know there has always been wickedness. But, I kind of thought with so many people professing to believe in God, that it wouldn't get a foothold here.

Yet, that is it ...isn't it!!

We have said we believe in God, but we've decided what that means ...haven't we??

And we say it is favoring a certain belief system ...with quickly the word 'intolerant' entering the conversation if we ever publicly talk about it.

So, we sort of distract ourselves with lesser things, and not acknowledge what should be great in our lives ...while all the time we have allowed our freedoms to freely ignore what He is really showing us, through all the experiences of those who've gone before us.

The Bible says, just before the Great Flood, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Jesus was asked when the kingdom of God should come, and Jesus said, " ...the kingdom of God is within."

Then Jesus mentioned the time of Noah ...where they ate, drank, married, and were given in marriage.

Jesus also mentioned how they did likewise in the days of Lot ...where they ate, drank, bought, sold, planted, and built.

It was as if saying, "Life went on ..."

But, it went on, just before it didn't.

Yes, there are times life seems to offer up difficulties. And we feel it's best to approach those situations with a resolve, committing to an attitude of ..."Life must go on!!"

But, that doesn't appear to be the attitude of anyone outside of Noah's family ...or later, let's say, Lot's family.  There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency with most of the people.  They didn't appear to think they had to do any serious changes.

Many changes had taken place over the years ...and those changes had an impact upon how things were at that time.  It so happens that, at that time, God said it had become wicked.  I'm sure it did not happen overnight, nor by an invasion of wicked people.  It happened with their own people.  (Read the Book of Judges, Chapter 19:20-28 ...and also Chapter 19:1-9 of the Book of Genesis, and see the similarities.)

We get a bit more graphic description from what is told of Lot ....living in Sodom. Lot had guests sent by God.  The men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded Lot's house and called out to him, inquiring of his guests ...and requesting Lot to send them out, so they could entertain themselves at their expense (sort of a mild way of saying they were hoping to do wickedness with Lot's guests.)

Speaking of urgency, does there seem to be any sense of urgency today??  Or do we look upon those around us ...in a way that's not that different from how the people of that day viewed the Benjamites (Judges, Chapter 20)???

II Timothy 3:1-5, describes the sad character of people as the last days approach.

II Thessalonians 2:11-12, states, "For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion, so that they will believe a lie, and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness."

And things haven't changed, as for the workings of evil, even since as far back as Isaiah, "Woe unto them who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.  Woe unto them who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight!"

Again, does there appear to be any sense of urgency ... or are the only changes we deem as necessary, inclusive of considerations that exclude God.  Or perhaps if we include God, it would be a sense of who we feel God is, not wholly trusting upon the Bible's description of a holy God.

Solomon asked God to make him wise ...to judge the people.  We need to judge ourselves, by His standards.  I have no wisdom, except that which God gives me.  And I trust God!!

When we ask someone to trust us, we often are asked in return, "Give me your word!"  Well, I am not giving anyone my word. God gave us His Word, giving us the substance of His relationship with His people.  The Bible is where I put my trust ...because I believe God gave us the Bible, to be able to know Him.

(I was going to say, there's Lot we don't Noah.)

There's lots I don't know ...but, I am so glad I can read of God's loving relationship with His people, which extends to me.  And it can extend to you too.

An open grasp cannot hold that which wants to be free ...but, an open heart can forever hold, and at the same time be free.  And I hope you can grasp what I'm trying to say.
